How times change

I agree with Leslie. Do they actually have smoking areas on campus anymore? My daughter went to Overland and I can remember watching the kids smoke off the campus but as close as they could get. One day my daughter said "Dad I saw some kids doing drugs today. They were smoking" So I said "were you one of those kids" She said "No" I said "Don't worry about it then" The other one was the day she called me at work and frantically said "Dad I think I'm gonna fail math" All  I could think was if I thought I was going to fail a class the last thing I was going to do was call my parents and tell them so. With todays technology I could look at her grades on the internet right then and there. She wasn't failing at all, she was 2 points below a B. So one day I drove her from Overland to Gateway just to show her how close my school was to hers. She was like "So What" Things were different back then. But I always loved the 80's. Gateway High School was a big turining point for me.

Funny things about

How funny is it that in back "our day" we actually did walk to school up hill (both ways), in the snow!  How about that we had a smoking area on campus?  Who's idea was it to allow 10 unexcused absences per class; per semester?  I guess that was for learning "time managment skills!"  Too fun.  See you all on Saturday!- Leslie
